In recent months, tribute bands across the nation have been hit with an unexpected blow—Facebook’s crackdown on fan pages. The new rules have left many bands scrambling as their carefully built online presences have been erased in an instant. Among those most affected is Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band, a tribute act to Kid Rock. With a loyal following of over 31,000 fans on their fan page, the band's world was rocked when Facebook deleted their fourth page, wiping out the hard work and connections they had built for years. The heartbreaking part is that this wasn’t the first time it happened—previous deletions have cost the band tens of thousands of followers in total.

Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band tour nationwide, delivering a high-energy show that not only replicates Kid Rock's iconic music but also celebrates the artist’s legacy. Their lead singer, Don Suiters, bears a striking resemblance to Kid Rock, adding a layer of authenticity to the tribute. It's not just about mimicking the music—it’s about creating an experience that fans of Kid Rock can connect with. This heartfelt homage has resonated with countless fans across the country, who come to see the band perform the hits they know and love, while paying tribute to the real Kid Rock in the process.

The recent deletion of Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band's fan page marks the fourth time their online presence has been wiped from Facebook’s platform, erasing over 31,000 followers. Over the course of their journey, the band has lost upwards of 43,000 to 48,000 followers due to repeated takedowns. Each loss is more than just a number—it represents a community of fans who are passionate about the band’s mission. These aren’t just followers; they’re people who’ve supported the band by attending shows, sharing posts, and celebrating their love for Kid Rock's music. With each deletion, the band is faced with the frustrating task of starting over, repeatedly losing the connections they've worked so hard to build.
Despite these setbacks, Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band remain committed to their mission. They’ve always been clear and transparent in their branding: they are a tribute band, not Kid Rock. The band has never implied that they are Kid Rock or that their page is official. Instead, they’ve proudly proclaimed their status as a tribute act, with five members performing on stage, including the doppelgänger singer performing Kid Rock's songs and embodying his stage presence for the fans.
To further verify their authenticity, the band has gone through the proper steps to ensure that their pages are legitimate, including providing Facebook with personal information for verification. Still, despite these efforts, Facebook's algorithm continues to flag the page, often based on false reports. "What's the purpose of (Don) jumping thru all the hoops and providing Facebook all his personal information to blue check VERIFY that we are a tribute band, if Facebook is going to take it down anyway - what's the point in spending all the marketing money with Facebook to boost posts - and look how much the venues loose too - they need to sell tickets, and now the crowd they sell to - is gone!," says Brian Bayley, drummer for the band.
The band has also spent considerable time dealing with fake accounts claiming to be Kid Rock, which they regularly work to report and remove. In fact, one of the band’s primary concerns is that other users are inaccurately flagging their page as a fraudulent attempt to impersonate Kid Rock. "You have no idea how many deletions we go through eliminating Scammers from our page," says Suiters. "All the scammers posting on our page get to keep their pages, and we don't!?"
Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band has never, and will never, attempt to deceive fans into thinking they are the real artist. Their goal has always been clear: to play the music of Kid Rock, honor his legacy, and entertain fans in the process.
In a heartfelt plea to Facebook, the band has asked for the reinstatement of their page, emphasizing that their only intention has been to pay homage to Kid Rock. The plea reads, in part:
"Hi FB - Wanted to write begging for reinstatement of our page (https://www.facebook.com/kidkentucky) please?
I am the original owner of the Profile page (https://www.facebook.com/brian.bayley.nashville), and have built the fan page here for our tribute band.
We have a singer in the band that is an identical look to the real guy, Kid Rock; our vocalist is Don Suiters (https://www.facebook.com/OfficialKidkentucky), and we have never claimed, nor tried to imply that Don, nor this page is for/of Kid Rock. We are a tribute band to Kid Rock, with a singer that looks exactly like the real Kid Rock for entertainment purposes. Don, in fact, provided FB his personal information to blue check this page.
There have been a gazillion fake accounts under Kid Rock, that we constantly remove and warn the audience seeing our Kid Rock Tribute Page. Even our band logo states 'Kid Rock TRIBUTE BAND' at KidKentucky.com and within our posts. Please see attached. We are not a scam page. We are a true tribute band, active within the entire tribute band industry nationwide. We are not Kid Rock, nor claim to be. We simply play his music.
Our account fan page has NOT been built to look like it belongs to a celebrity. Our page has been built as promotion for our Tribute band, Kid Kentucky, and the American Badass Band. We have never used a photo of someone famous to deceive people. All of our photos are pictures of our band, and our actual band members, either promoting our band, performances, and/or promoting the real guy. We are just fans of the real guy and play his music, putting on a show with a doppelgänger singer when we do. We are not trying to deceive anyone. We are always upfront, accountable, and transparent in our attempts to play the music of Kid Rock.
Can you please reinstate our fan page for Kid Kentucky. This is a tribute band to Kid Rock that has never attempted any deceit whatsoever. We often boost ads with FB and always claim our status as a tribute band.
We do have a concern that others are inaccurately reporting our page trying to deceive others into believing this is Kid Rock. This is NOT the case. We are NOT trying to deceive others into believing this is Kid Rock. We never have and never will. Please visit our website at KidKentucky.com proving our only intention—paying homage to the real Kid Rock.
If there are other concerns over our page, please advise ANY violations we have accidentally employed within this page termination, and we are happy to comply. We have never intended to issue any violations and welcome the opportunity to learn what we have done as an infringement thereof?"
The plea concludes with a simple request for a human review of the case, asking Facebook to take into account the band's transparency and commitment to their fans. "Please and thank you for an accurate review opposed to a bot responding to others' false reports of violations," Bayley's plea states, underscoring the frustration that so many independent artists feel when dealing with the automated 'bot' systems of major platforms like Facebook.

For Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band, the latest deletion is not just about losing access to a fan page—it's about the impact on their community and the people who have supported them; Kid Rock fans and show promoters alike.
They’re not just a band—they’re part of a movement that honors the music and legacy of legends. Tribute bands like Kid Kentucky and the American Badass Band play an important role in keeping the music alive, and the fans deserve the opportunity to continue supporting them. With Facebook's apparent disregard for the value of these bands and the communities they build, the spirit of tribute music remains to be heard, just like any band out there deserving the chance to continue sharing it with the world.
